“My favourite place to work in Aotearoa is definitely in the rurals. I think working in the rurals really encompasses who we are as a people and being able to give back to our people is so rewarding. What inspired me to become a rural nurse is seeing the gaps in care for my grandparents, especially as they got older. There was really no care for them along the river. Although my grandparents aren’t here anymore, my inspiration to helping them was ‘what else can I do for my people?’ and I just believe there could be more.”
