This practice has a permanent GP (family physician) role available, starting as soon as possible.

You will be joining a well-balanced team in the quaint town of Winton.

Sessions are flexible, reaching up to 10 per week with opening hours of 8:30am to 5:30pm. The practice uses Profile for Mac with some on-call and PRIME work involved.

The practice is also able to offer relocation assistance and will cover the cost of indemnity insurance and MCNZ registration.

This practice currently has 6 GPs and 12 nurses.  Current out-of-hours care arrangements are shared with Invercargill city doctors, operating from an out-of-hours clinic in the city.

Winton enjoys the benefits of having a base hospital nearby at Invercargill.

The practice supports local aged care facilities and serves as a teaching practice for University of Otago medical students, GP Registrar, and undergraduate nursing students.

They also work in conjunction with District Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Podiatrists who are located next door to the practice.

Winton is situated on the Invercargill-Queenstown highway. The town is named after Thomas Winton, a well-known stockman of the 1850s who regularly camped in the area.

Travellers find Winton a handy refreshment stop on the way north or south – there are character cafés and friendly pubs to enjoy. If you fancy a stroll, walk part of 5km the heritage trail which takes in historic treasures built by the region’s European pioneers.

If you’re looking for a holiday that’s big on tranquillity, the local rivers are well stocked with brown trout.
