Role We are seeking a locum GP or NP for a centrally located, privately owned medical practice in a popular holiday location. You will be working 6 – 8 sessions per week and on call is 1:4. If you are familiar with emergency/urgent care and used to a busy practice then this is the role for you.
Practice This is a busy rural practice where you will be working with a great supportive team. The staff includes four other General Practitioners, six experienced practice nurses, administration and frontline staff. The practice provides its own 24/7 cover. This is a well-equipped, cornerstone accredited practice.
Location Whangamata is located in the stunning Coromandel region and is renowned for one of New Zealand’s most popular beach resorts. It has a population of 4000, swelling dramatically to 80,000 plus during the holiday periods. Move here for the best weather in the country, with temperatures ranging from mid to high 20’s in the summer. This region is famous for its unique combination of beach and forest. The spectacular ocean beach provides some of the best surfing breaks and yet the safest swimming in New Zealand. A number of off-shore islands can be seen from the beach. Hauturu or Clark Island is accessible by wading at low tide and is popular in summer months for rock-pool fossickers and kayakers.
