Role

We have a vacancy for an experienced and skilled GP to work at a small family and community focused practice located in the Wairarapa.

As the practice is growing, they are looking for a long term GP to work 6-8 sessions per week, with a very small amount of afterhours required. The ideal candidates will be patient-centred, with a calm and friendly outlook and collaborative approach to patient care.

Practice

The practice has 2980 registered patients, the patient demographic is mainly the elderly and also young families.  Appointments are 15 minutes with one double appointment each hour. The practice hours are Monday, Thursday & Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and Tuesday & Wednesday 9.00am – 7.00pm.  This purpose built facility currently has three doctors rooms, two nurse rooms, one laboratory room and one physio room.

Wairarapa means “Glistening Waters” and with New Zealand’s third largest lake and miles of coastline, it’s clear to see why.  Travelling from Wellington through the Rimutaka Ranges, the beauty of the Wairarapa opens up before you, bush-clad ranges to the west across flat plains to a rugged coast on the east.  The region is known for its hot, languid summers and provides a relaxing, refined lifestyle away from the pressures of metropolitan life.

The Wairarapa is an hour’s drive from Wellington and is renowned for its wineries, spectacular coastlines, wide valleys and small towns full of character.

The region, offers travelers a wide range of experiences with great fishing, the Rimutaka Cycle Trail or across the swing bridge at the foot of the Tararuas, is the gateway to tramping tracks into the ranges.
