Role Our close-knit team is looking to recruit a General Practitioner to join their young and vibrant team for 6 to 8 sessions (3 to 4 days) per week plus 1/8 PRIME call. The position is suited to a self-motivated individual who enjoys a challenge. Your strong work ethic is matched by your equally strong sense of humour and collegial approach. You will understand cultural competence & safety and its importance to securing equitable health outcomes and be able to demonstrate an ability to apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi to your practice. Preferably you will be a fellow of the RNZCGP or working towards accreditation and are PRIME trained or willing to complete training to fulfil the PRIME call requirement. With the recent move to purpose-built premises, the practice has plenty of opportunity to help expand services and focus on special areas of interest of the successful candidate.
Practice We are passionate about helping whanau (family) to improve their health and wellbeing and have a strong emphasis on reducing health inequities within our community. You will be working with a motivated team of 8 GPs, 7 nurses, 2 medical centre assistants, clinical pharmacist, dietitian and a Kaiawhina who are supported by 8 administration staff to provide services for a rural population of 5,970 patients. The team have brief daily morning meetings to ensure everyone is supported in their roles and host regular in-house education sessions to encourage ongoing learning opportunities within the practice. We have RNZCGP accreditation as a teaching practice with registrars & medical students on placements throughout the year.
