Role

We are seeking a permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine Physician) to work full-time or part-time. The role has will be rostered around a weekend and weekday roster.

We are looking for an empathetic, dynamic GP to join an experienced friendly team for a diverse community practice. The right candidate will be friendly, methodical and be a good team-player.

Practice

We have a highly experienced team of over 60 staff including doctors, nurses and patient support and a Headquarters team.

The practice offers a wide range of services including- men’s/women’s health, nurse led clinics, minor surgery and immunisations. There is also an Urgent Care Centre. Onsite is also a dentistry, Med-lab, pharmacy, visiting specialists who work out of the premises and a café.

Location

Palmerston North is a prosperous North Island inland city of more than 81,000 inhabitants. It is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by rich and fertile pasture inland. Palmerston North was named in honour of a former British Prime Minister called Viscount Palmerston. The Māori name for the city is Papaioea which is believed to mean “How beautiful it is”.

Palmerston North has economic strengths in research – especially in the bio-industry, defence, distribution and smart business sectors. The city is home to more than 70 major educational and research institutions, including New Zealand’s fastest expanding university, Massey University.

The city is known for its rose gardens and has been called the “Rose City”. Palmerston North is only a short drive away from the picturesque Tararua and Ruahine Ranges which have the stunning Manawatu Gorge. If you are keen on skiing then Mount Ruapehu is only three and half hours away.
