Role

In 2025, a medical practice in Ōpōtiki requires coverage from either a general practitioner or a nurse practitioner. This temporary role spans a two-week period, specifically from May 26th to June 6th, 2025. The responsibilities entail ten sessions per week, without any PRIME or on-call duties. Furthermore, the practice offers accommodation, relocation support, and vehicle assistance, with negotiable rates and benefits.

Location

Opotiki is a town located on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, in the Bay of Plenty region. It has a population of just under 10,000 people and is situated at the mouth of the Otara River.

Opotiki is known for its stunning natural beauty, with pristine beaches, native bush, and rugged mountains in the surrounding area. The town itself has a charming, laid-back atmosphere and a range of amenities, including cafes, restaurants, and shops.

One of the main attractions in Opotiki is the Motu Trails, a network of cycle and walking tracks that wind through the region’s stunning landscapes, including the Motu River, Pakihi Track, and Dunes Trail.

It’s also home to a rich Maori cultural heritage, with several historic sites and museums showcasing the area’s history and traditions. The town is situated near the edge of Te Urewera National Park, which is home to the Tuhoe people, one of New Zealand’s largest Maori tribes.
