This Mataura-based practice is seeking a general practitioner (GP) or nurse practitioner (NP) to fill in a short-term role. This role is covering 6 weeks of work with an ideal start date of the 15th of July however, this is flexible.

The role includes a minimum of 6 sessions per week to be covered with no PRIME, on-call or hospital duties involved.

Additionally they’re able to offer accommodation and vehicle assistance if required.


With a patient base of roughly 3300 this close-knit practice is driven with the goal of providing better health outcomes for the community and to ensure that their patients are able to care for themselves.


Mataura is a small town located in the Southland region of New Zealand’s South Island. It is situated on the banks of the Mataura River.

Mataura is known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. The Mataura River is famous for its excellent trout fishing, attracting anglers from around New Zealand and beyond.
