Role

A medical practice in Marton is seeking a General Practitioner (GP) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a short-term position. The role will commence on the 29th of October and end on the 15th of November 2024.

You will be working 8 to 10 sessions per week, with no on-call duties, PRIME, or hospital work required.

Location

The town of Marton, population around 6000, is situated midway between the riverside city of Wanganui, and Palmerston North, one of New Zealand’s largest provincial cities and the site of Massey University.   The central North Island ski fields are only one and a half hours drive to the north.

Marton is a service centre for the rural community.  The town is well-resourced with shops and other amenities and the close proximity of Marton to several major centres offers enviable options. Within the town itself, is a heated, covered Olympic-sized pool and gymnasium, a number of cafes and restaurants, and a range of sports facilities and cultural clubs. The nearest golf course is 10 kilometres from the town centre. Kayaking, cycling on quiet country roads, bush walks and trout fishing are all popular activities that can be enjoyed in and around Marton.
