Role

We are working with a practice who is looking for a General Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner to work with an elderly population. We are keen to hear from applicants interested in working between 6-10 sessions per week. Ideally the practice is looking for a GP who holds vocational scope of practice with the MCNZ or a NP with aged care experience. However, they are open to considering all experienced applicants. Having experience with palliative care and minor surgery skills would be advantageous. The applicant will also need to have excellent communication skills liaising with hospice and families.

Practice

The health service is located across three sites in Auckland providing GP services to an elderly population located in independent living apartments, rest homes and hospital care including a dementia ward. The hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm and there is some after hours, approx. 1:5, mainly dealt with via telehealth. Currently there are 4 GPs working alongside experienced nurses and an administration team. Medtech Evolution is the PMS.
