Role General or Nurse Practitioner. Queen St Practice is a Rural General Practice based in Wairoa. Our enrolled population of 8400 is 68% Māori and 1% Pacific. We focus on improving Māori Health and achieving equity for Māori Patients. We are recruiting a General Practitioner to work with a team that includes General Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurse, Social Worker, Health Coach, Health Improvement Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist and Students. Queen St Practice is innovative and well equipped. We offer flexible working conditions and have an excellent team who work well together. The practice has strong connections to the Wairoa Community. The General Practice is co-located with the Wairoa hospital which has an ED, inpatient beds, maternity, radiology and outpatients on-site. If necessary unwell patients are flown to Hastings Hospital.
Location Wairoa is a rural community, on the East Coast in Northern Hawkes Bay, between Napier and Gisborne. The town and surrounding area have a population of about 9,000 people. Staff also drive into Wairoa from the outer rural areas including Mahia, Tuai and Raupunga. Wairoa offers a relaxed lifestyle. The town is on the Wairoa river and has shops, a movie theatre, community recreation centre and sports facilities.
