This is a wonderful opportunity to join a friendly GP practice near Lake Taupo in the central North Island. You will be joining an experienced team of doctors and medical staff who provide a quality personal service for their patients. The ideal candidate will be an experience and easy going GP, who is interested in working 3 – 4 days per week.

The practice is well equipped and provides a welcoming environment for staff and patients. Pharmacy, laboratory sampling and visiting specialist services are all provided on site. The clinic employs three GPs and a team of nurses and support staff who are committed to maintaining the current best medical and nursing standards and going the extra mile for their patients.

This is a teaching practice and hosts both medical students and registrars. The practice offers 24 hour care to their patients and the afterhours duty (week night and weekend) is rostered together with the other doctors in Taupo, so the requirement is very minimal.

The practice employs currently employs GPs who work just over 2 FTE between them.  They have 3400 registered patients.

Taupo is a scenic resort town of around 25 000 people and is situated on the shores of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake.  It is roughly 3.5 hours’ drive south of Auckland city.  Taupo is a great spot for trout fishing, walking, tramping, hunting, boating, swimming and dozens of other water sports – a must visit for anyone with a love of the outdoors.   Due to its central North Island location it is within 1 – 2 hours’ drive of many other New Zealand attractions, e.g. Rotorua, Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park, Napier/Hastings district and Waitomo Caves.
