Role We are seeking a Permanent or Long Term General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to work around eight sessions per week (4 days) with no on-call. The successful candidate would have experience in rural practice, be a team player, able to handle a fast paced environment, and have enthusiasm with plenty of energy. A competitive remuneration package is offered.
Practice The clinic moved into a new purpose built community centre in April 2015. The centre provides a variety of general and family practice services to approximately 3000 enrolled patients, with an average of 25 patients seen per day. The clinic’s opening hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Location Situated on the coast, Opunake is half way between New Plymouth and Hawera. The mountain really does meet the sea with the mighty Mount Taranaki/Egmont on one side and the roaring ocean on the other. The welcome sign of the town proclaims it as “home of world-famous surf” and it lies on a surf highway route which is a firm favourite with wave-chasers.
