Role A Whangamatā-based practice is seeking a General Practitioner (GP) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a short-term role available from 2 June to 12 June 2026. In this role, you will work six to eight sessions per week, with on-call required for one weeknight and one weekend. The practice can also assist with vehicle and accommodation costs, if required.
Location Whangamata is located in the stunning Coromandel region and is renowned for one of New Zealand’s most popular beach resorts. It has a population of 4000, swelling dramatically to 80,000 plus during the holiday periods. Move here for the best weather in the country, with temperatures ranging from mid to high 20’s in the summer. This region is famous for its unique combination of beach and forest. The spectacular ocean beach provides some of the best surfing breaks and yet the safest swimming in New Zealand. A number of off-shore islands can be seen from the beach. Hauturu or Clark Island is accessible by wading at low tide and is popular in summer months for rock-pool fossickers and kayakers.
