Role A Whangamata-based practice has an enduring position open for either a general practitioner or a nurse practitioner. The role commences on July 1st and requires a minimum commitment of one month, with the possibility of extension if interested. The ideal candidate would work a minimum of six sessions per week, participate in overnight on-call duties once a week, and cover one weekend per month. Additionally, the practice offers vehicle and accommodation assistance to support the successful candidate.
Location Whangamata is located in the stunning Coromandel region and is renowned for one of New Zealand’s most popular beach resorts. It has a population of 4000, swelling dramatically to 80,000 plus during the holiday periods. Move here for the best weather in the country, with temperatures ranging from mid to high 20’s in the summer. This region is famous for its unique combination of beach and forest. The spectacular ocean beach provides some of the best surfing breaks and yet the safest swimming in New Zealand. A number of off-shore islands can be seen from the beach. Hauturu or Clark Island is accessible by wading at low tide and is popular in summer months for rock-pool fossickers and kayakers.
