Role A Tūrangi-based practice is seeking long-term cover for the new year, the role can be suited for a general practitioner (GP) or nurse practitioner (NP). The role is available now and will then conclude at the end of September 2025. For this role they’re ideally looking for 6 sessions per week to be covered. Additionally there is no on-call or PRIME work involved.
Practice This practice is a not-for-profit primary care organisation dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to the southern communities of Lake Taupo. Operating as a charity and governed by a board of local community trustees, they are proud to serve a diverse population with a wide range of health services, including urgent care, routine medical care, preventative health, and wellness advice. Their clinic offers comprehensive healthcare, with a team of health professionals who work together to meet the needs of our patients. In addition to general health services, they also provide advice on preventative medicine and screening, and work closely with allied health and social service professionals to ensure their patients and their whānau have access to all the resources needed to achieve their health goals. With a registered patient population of approximately 4,800 people, the majority of whom are Māori, they serve a community with a high proportion of complex and high-needs patients. In addition to our regular patients, they also provide urgent healthcare to around 2,000 casual patients each year, including many tourists and visitors to the area. They are a rural practice with Cornerstone Accreditation and is also a Rural Teaching Practice. They undertake PRIME (Primary Response in Medical Emergencies) response during clinic hours, providing essential emergency care when needed. Their team consists of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to offering quality, accessible care in a friendly and safe environment
