Role We are looking for a permanent or fixed term (minimum 12 months) General Practitioner to join this friendly practice. The role is preferably for a permanent position but a fixed term (minimum 12 months) agreement would also be considered. You will be working four or five days a week with some minor on call. If you are flexible, adaptable, a team player with a sense of humour and willing to go the extra mile then this is the right job for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic general practitioner to work full time in our modern medical centre. You will be joining a supportive team that consists of 5.5 GPs, one Clinical Pharmacists and experienced primary care nurses. There is also an excellent leadership team to support the delivery of services, we are very community focused and support a high need community. We are one of the first general practices in New Zealand to adopt the model which is based on putting our 9,000 enrolled patients at the centre of everything we do. This refurbished new building is on the same site as the Emergency Department, Laboratory and X-ray facilities. The welcoming staff are made up of administration, practice nurses, medical care assistants and GPs who will endeavour to assist you in settling in. We also have a clinical pharmacist on site who is an invaluable resource for the practice.
Location Surrounding Tokoroa are many dairy farms, plantation forests and scenic reserves. The lake ‘Moana-Nui’ lies within a popular recreational park, there are about forty five lakes within a forty-five-minute drive of this town! Its central location means you will be less than an hour’s drive to Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo. This is a relatively new town developed in 1917, with a population of approximately 13,600.
