Location

Te Puia Springs is a small town located on the eastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is situated in the Gisborne District, near the mouth of the Waiapu River. The town is known for its natural hot springs.

In addition to the hot springs, Te Puia Springs and its surrounding area boast scenic beauty and cultural significance. The town is located near the stunning East Cape, which is renowned for its rugged coastline and picturesque landscapes. Visitors can explore pristine beaches, hike through native forests, and enjoy breathtaking views from the lighthouse at East Cape Point.

The area is also rich in Māori culture and history. The local iwi (tribe) of Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki has a strong presence in the region, and visitors have the opportunity to engage with Māori traditions, arts, and crafts.
