Role The case of an atypical GP or NP position. Te Anau is a thriving tourist town on the edge of Fiordland National Park. We are seeking a GP with the drive to push the boundaries of their skill set, someone who is prepared to assess and manage a broad range of presentations, both acute and chronic, in and out of the clinic, and during both standard and after-hours care. Te Anau is not your standard GP job. In the medium to long term, you’ll have the opportunity to become involved in helicopter retrievals. We crew the air ambulance, are PRIME-trained, and work closely with the St John team. While we serve the Te Anau community, we also provide care throughout Fiordland National Park and much of rural Southland. We are highly respected by both our community and hospital colleagues for the level of service we provide. We offer same-day, acute, and extended appointments, perform X-rays, manage fractures, and treat most minor injuries and illnesses, alongside providing everyday general practice care. We’re a close-knit, supportive, and collaborative team. Registrars and locums are welcomed and carefully supported by experienced GPs. If you want to offer “hut-to-hotel” care, then seriously consider talking to us. We offer flexible working hours, competitive remuneration, and a great working environment.
