This is a busy and gowning semi-rural practice covering Picton and the Marlborough Sounds with access to Wairau Hospital and specialists located 25 minutes away in Blenheim. We also provide general practice services for the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base at Woodbourne and the Blenheim Urgent Care Clinic.

We have been in our purpose-built medical centre since November 2015 and can cater for up to 7000 patients. The facility includes a pharmacy, consulting rooms, a surgery room, a triage area and car parks for more than 20 patients.

This is also a cornerstone accredited practice.

Location

The picturesque seaside town of Picton is the South Island base for the ferry service that links the main islands of New Zealand and the heart of the Marlborough Sounds.

Built around a very sheltered harbour, the town has an attractive seafront dotted with cafés, restaurants, various types of galleries. There’s also a floating maritime museum and an aquarium. Local operators can take you cruising, fishing, dolphin watching, sea kayaking or mountain biking.

The nearby Queen Charlotte Track is a major local attraction; you can conquer it on foot or on a mountain bike.

Picton today has three schools. Picton School is a state contributing primary (Year 1 to 6) school, Queen Charlotte College is a state Year 7 to 13 secondary school and Waikawa Bay School is a state contributing primary (Year 1 to 6) school in Waikawa.
