Practice

This practice is a teaching practice who prides itself on hosting RNZCGP Registrars, PGY2 House Officers, and Auckland University medical students. You will be joining a team of 3.5 FTE doctors who are committed to providing quality healthcare to a rural community of 6000 registered patients. The patient demographic is 58% New Zealand European, 34% Maori, and 8% Other. The practice provides quality comprehensive care. The Team also feature 6 Nurses, 2 Medical Centre Assistants, and 5 Administration support staff. They are a fun, multicultural, open minded group, who love to be social, are team orientated and promote a happy work environment with patient focus at heart.

Otorohanga is a small town in the north King Country region of the North Island. The District population is 10 750 with a town population of 3 270, as at June 2021.

The town promotes itself with a Kiwiana theme. The Kiwihouse has a Kiwi breeding scheme which promotes tourism within the township, as well as a close approximation to the world famous Waitomo Caves, which feature glow worm tours, caving, abseiling and ziplining.

The West Coast township of Kawhia is 40 minutes drive away for excellent fishing and hot water beach. Being centrally located in the North Island, the East Coast, Taupo, Rotorua and the Ruapehu region are all available within a two hour drive of Otorohanga.

Otorohanga is an excellent location for your outdoors recreation, hiking, camping, hunting, trout fishing, caving, snow skiing, fishing, 4wd driving, beautiful native bush walks and picnic areas to explore.
