Nga Waahanga o naianei

This practice is looking for 2 GPs (Family Physicians) to join their team who work from our purpose-built premises in Ōtaki on the Kapiti Coast. They have a registered population of 6800 patients with over 30 percent identifying as Māori. They are looking to replace GP colleagues who have been with them for over 4 years but are returning to family in the Netherlands.

They have a supportive and collegial team of GPs, nurse practitioners and nurses along with knowledgeable and helpful administrative staff. In addition, there is an on-site phlebotomy laboratory, district nurses and mental health support staff.

The role includes working 8 sessions per week. Shared on call is light with few call outs and calls triaged through a Telehealth provider.

Ōtaki, a small town just like other small towns except more awesome!

Ōtaki is a thriving, semi-rural seaside community on the Kāpiti Coast 45 minutes by dual carriageway north of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. Our community has a very strong cultural background, particularly in kaupapa Māori (Maori skills and attitude) and is the home to iconic institutions such as Te Wānanga o Raukawa (the oldest of the three Māori universities in New Zealand) and the Māoriland international film festival. Less than an hour to the capital, with the Tararua ranges on one border and the Tasman Sea on the other, we offer the perfect life balance for anyone.

To get an idea of what the practice and people are like, have a look at a video clip we did 3 years ago.
