A Mataura-based practice has a permanent role available for a general practitioner (GP) or nurse practitioner (NP) which is available now.

For this role they’re looking for 6 to 10 sessions to be covered with no on-call or PRIME work involved.

Additionally the practice is able to offer accommodation, vehicle and relocation assistance.


With a patient base of roughly 3300 this close-knit practice is driven with the goal of providing better health outcomes for the community and to ensure that their patients are able to care for themselves.


Mataura is a small town located in the Southland region of New Zealand’s South Island. It is situated on the banks of the Mataura River.

Mataura is known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. The Mataura River is famous for its excellent trout fishing, attracting anglers from around New Zealand and beyond.
