Role

A Mataura-based practice has a permanent role available for a general practitioner (GP) or nurse practitioner (NP) which is available now.

For this role they’re looking for 6 to 10 sessions to be covered with no on-call or PRIME work involved.

Additionally the practice is able to offer accommodation, vehicle and relocation assistance.

Practice

With a patient base of roughly 3300 this close-knit practice is driven with the goal of providing better health outcomes for the community and to ensure that their patients are able to care for themselves.

Location

Mataura is a small town located in the Southland region of New Zealand’s South Island. It is situated on the banks of the Mataura River.

Mataura is known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. The Mataura River is famous for its excellent trout fishing, attracting anglers from around New Zealand and beyond. The river is known for its abundant brown trout population and is considered one of the premier trout fishing destinations in the country.

In addition to fishing, the surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, cycling, and exploring the nearby rural landscapes. Mataura is located in the heart of Southland’s farming region, known for its rolling green pastures and sheep farming.
