Location

Levin, in the Horowhenua district, is ideally positioned to enjoy the best of New Zealand. Rugged natural beauty, rolling farmland, native forests, and idyllic beaches can all be found in the Horowhenua. The area is emerging as a prime lifestyle destination for those who appreciate the safety and well-being of rural life, while having the modern amenities of the city nearby.

Levin is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. In the area you can find more mountain biking trails than anywhere else in the country, as well as fly-fishing, angling, bushwalks, gardens, rivers, beaches and mountains all within driving distance.

Levin is a town proud of its historic past, confident in its economic future and strong in its sense of local identity. Traditionally a service town for the district’s vast farmlands, it has developed to include a rapidly growing commercial sector and modern retail facilities. With its population of 20,000 expected to continue to increase, health services will remain in high demand.

Levin is also becoming the retirement destination of choice for Wellingtonians and others around the district. This has been spurred, in part, by real estate prices, which, though climbing, remain comparatively affordable.  The coastal drive from city to country is peppered with cafés, museums, island trips, wineries and other attractions. Levin is only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Wellington – Capital City of New Zealand!
