Kerikeri

Role

A Kerikeri based practice has a permanent position available for a Nurse Practitioner or a GP.   You will work with four General Practitioners (Family Medicine physicians), six Nurses and an administration team, in a warm and supportive work environment.  The role has eight sessions (is negotiable) per week, with Saturday mornings rostered between the GP’s.   You must be eligible to be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Practice

They are a happy, supportive practice that strives to provide a warm and caring environment for our patients; going the extra mile to meet their needs and providing high quality care.  The practice has excellent facilities, working out of a purpose-built building with a pharmacy on site. The practice is foundation accredited.

Primary care services we provide for our enrolled patients includes;

  • same day appointments for urgent conditions
  • child health
  • routine immunisations
  • contraception and family planning
  • minor surgery
  • management of chronic conditions
  • care of the elderly
  • dive, maritime and insurance medicals
  • management of minor injuries

Location

Kerikeri is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands. It has a wonderful mix of old, new and exciting. The subtropical climate allows for a wide variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing, snorkelling or walks amongst the majestic Kauri’s at Puketi Forest. Paihia is only 20 minutes away, where there are a large amount of water activities on offer. Across the bay is the historic town of Russell.

The wider Kerikeri area has a population of approximately 14,000, with the option of a good public or private school.
