We are looking for a General Practitioner (six months or longer) to join a friendly and supportive team. The role is for six to ten sessions per week.  This medical centre is a training practice for medical registrars and a college accredited practice, working from a new purpose built facility.

This is a large rural practice with more than 8000 patients.  You will see on average 24 patients per day. No after hours or on call is required. The medical centre is supported by the local ambulance service as well as rescue helicopter.

Darfield is a quaint little town situated on State Highway 73, a mere 30 minutes’ drive from the city of Christchurch. The area is known for its gorgeous spring-time blossoms and some of New Zealand’s highest temperatures come summertime. Darfield is a popular region for hot air ballooning, where you can enjoy the exhilaration of the towering snow-capped mountains and panoramic views of the Canterbury plains! Head down south where you can visit the three main ski fields– Canterbury Ski region, Mount Cook Mackenzie area and the Queenstown / Wanaka regions.

The town is a vibrant small community with shops, cafes, sporting facilities, medical and dental facilities, a hotel and wine bar, restaurants, service stations, churches and educational facilities. There are 10 Primary Schools throughout the area as well as Darfield High School.
