Blenheim

Role

This friendly, family orientated practice is seeking a permanent GP for 0.8 FTE (4 days per week) with flexibility in working hours between 32-40 as required. The on call requirement is 1 x 6 hr session approximately every 6 weeks (on a weekend) at the Marlborough Urgent Care Centre.

Practice

The practice is located in the main town of the province of Marlborough, New Zealand’s premiere sunshine and wine growing district. The practice offers a wide range of typical general practice plus more specialised services. There are five other GPs working at the practice, and a very experienced and motivated team of nurses who offer a wide range of health services for older patients.

The practice staff is friendly and approachable; they often enjoy good discussions and love to have a laugh together! They are very supportive of each other in providing quality health care to their patients.

Location

Located at the top end of the South Island of NZ, Blenheim (with a population of 49,000) is the main town in the province of Marlborough, New Zealand’s premiere wine growing district. Although it is the largest wine growing area in the country, the town’s provincial nature is still reflected in its claim to fame of having no traffic lights.

Blenheim is one of the sunniest towns in New Zealand, and in and around the town you’ll find an excellent selection of cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, artisan food outlets and golf courses.

Blenheim is just a short drive from the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, home to all kinds of wonderful bird and sea life. Queen Charlotte, Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds can be explored by boat, bike or on foot. Admire the spectacular scenery where bush and mountains rise straight from the sea, and secret coves beckon you for a swim. Guided fishing and hunting tours provide an alternate way to appreciate the region, and the Queen Charlotte Track, which passes through lush coastal forest and along skyline ridges, offers breath taking views of the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds.
