Role A Balclutha-based practice has a short-term role to be filled by a hard-working and friendly general practitioner (GP). This role is due to commence on the 14th of October and will conclude on the 8th of November 2024. For this role there’s the option to work up to 10 sessions per week at a sessions rate of $600.00. Additionally there’s no on-call, PRIME or hospital work involved in the role. Additionally the practice is able to offer relocation, vehicle and accommodation assistance if required.
Location Balclutha is situated on the banks of the Clutha River, with Dunedin (the closest city) only an hour’s drive to the North. Balclutha is the gateway to the picturesque Catlins area and the Southern Scenic Route featuring spectacular coastal scenery and wildlife, with numerous outdoor recreational opportunities on offer. Expect rocky headlands, waterfalls and lakes, to yellow-eyed penguins, seals and dolphins. A good shopping centre catering for the local’s everyday needs is complemented by those in Dunedin with its abundance of fine restaurants and city shopping. There are several schools within Balclutha, with tertiary education available within the district. Balclutha offers the best of both worlds with rural living and a relaxed lifestyle with access to beaches and rivers, yet still close to a major city for dining, theatre and arts.
