Role We are looking for a permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine) or nurse practitioner who can work 8 – 10 sessions (4 – 5 days) per week with no on-call or weekend requirements. This General Practice is Cornerstone accredited and composed of a team of seven GPs and Nurse Practitioners, and a diverse support staff. This tight knit team are looking for a natural team player who enjoys clinical variety and has a strong focus on patient quality. If you enjoy the benefits of a collegial and supportive team, are easy-going but well organised then this is the perfect role for you! Additionally the practice is able to offer relocation, vehicle and accommodation assistance if required.
Practice The facility is a truly integrated health centre incorporating a 14 bed medical ward, an 8,400 enrolled patient General Practice, Medical Assessment Unit, Primary Maternity Birthing Unit, onsite radiology and pathology services, a broad range of specialist outpatient clinics and supporting Community/Allied Health services which combine to produce a great working environment. The practice operates weekdays from 9am to 9pm and from 9am to 6pm on weekends. The GPs and NPs see on average 20-22 patients per day with 1 hour of administration time per day.
Location Balclutha is situated on the banks of the Clutha River, with Dunedin (the closest city) only an hour’s drive to the North. Balclutha is the gateway to the picturesque Catlins area and the Southern Scenic Route featuring spectacular coastal scenery and wildlife, with numerous outdoor recreational opportunities on offer. Expect rocky headlands, waterfalls and lakes, to yellow-eyed penguins, seals and dolphins. A good shopping centre catering for the local’s everyday needs is complemented by those in Dunedin with its abundance of fine restaurants and city shopping.
