Ten General Practitioners joined us for the NZLocums Orientation course from the 10th – 12th of October.
This was the first time since January that we were able to have GPs attend our course in person! With the changing times, the majority attended virtually, but it was wonderful to welcome GPs into our office!
Of the four that attended in-person two travelled from Canada while the others are from the UK and US. Our new GPs are heading to Northland, Bay of Plenty, and the lower South Island.
Our three-day course introduced them to New Zealand’s health system including ACC, Work and Income, Pharmac, MedTech 32 training and sessions on Māori history and health.
Orientation is also a great networking opportunity for newly arrived international doctors to meet and share experiences.
NZLocums’ Orientation course is tailor-made for internationally trained GPs and Practice Nurses. The course is endorsed by the Royal New Zealand College of GPs for up to 17.5 credits CME. Contact information, email: orientation@nzlocums.com
