Cyclone Gabrielle – How Can We Help?

Cyclone Gabrielle

How Can We Help?

Kia ora tatou te whānau

We are all shocked with the images that we are seeing of the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle and can only imagine what it must be like for those people and their families whose lives have been uprooted by this massive tragedy. Here at Hauora Taiwhenua we feel a sense of helplessness knowing what some of you are going through and not being able to help directly.

Our team here would like to pass on our aroha and support.

We are working closely with Te Whatu Ora to collectively see if we can provide any more tangible assistance. To do this we really need some feedback from you with any thoughts on what help we might be able to provide that would be useful.

We have put together a very brief survey for members and practices in the North Island that have been impacted by this extreme weather event. We hope you can spare a couple of minutes to let us know how you have been impacted and any thoughts you have on ways we might be able to help you get through the next period.

Please click here to complete the survey.

We also know that often it is the emotional impacts of a tragedy like this that accumulate and have the most harmful effects over an extended period. Again, we would like to offer any assistance or help through the Wellington office or our networks of members: please get in touch.

Thank you for the work I am sure you are offering those around you and in your wider communities. Stay safe, give help when you can, and again, please do not hesitate to contact us for support.

Kia kaha
Grant and the team at Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network.
