Support for Rural Practices

Connecting Health Professionals with Communities Across Aotearoa

NZMedJobs & NZLocums places health professionals into both rural and urban locations throughout New Zealand. We are also the only recruitment agency contracted by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora to support rural practices and hospitals—meaning our services are subsidised, with no cost to you at any stage of the recruitment process, even if you’ve already begun engaging with a candidate.

Connected to Communities, Focused on the Right Fit

We are a New Zealand–based recruitment agency and proud part of the Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network. Our mission is to strengthen healthcare across Aotearoa—urban and rural—by connecting communities with skilled and passionate medical professionals.

Our experienced team recruits both New Zealand–qualified and international General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, and Rural Hospital Doctors. We guide candidates through Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) registration, arrange supervision where required, and ensure every candidate is reference-checked and practice-ready.

We work closely with key partners—MCNZ, Immigration NZ, and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora—to make every recruitment journey smooth and supported. Recently, we’ve also partnered with Health New Zealand to assist Graduate Registered Nurses in securing their first year of practice within rural communities.

What sets us apart is our deep understanding of New Zealand’s diverse communities and healthcare settings. Whether urban or rural, we know the people, the places, and what makes a great match—for you and for them.
