As a member of Hauora Taiwhenua, you will be a part of a collective rural voice advocating for the health and wellbeing of rural New Zealanders.
In your chapter, you will become part of a community of like-minded rural health professionals who can provide support and advice. You can feel part of a greater professional community while living remotely.
Be a part of the change you want to see.
Through your Chapter, you can share your thoughts and suggest issues of concern to you. Chapters can then pass their major concerns through to the HTRHN Council, who will then advocate strongly with Government and their agencies on behalf of the Chapters and their members.
Members are often given the chance to provide feedback for inclusion in submissions and consultations, and have a view of our current advocacy including position papers, reports, and other rural health advocacy papers.
Above all else, Hauora Taiwhenua is committed to listening to, questioning, analysing and responding to the issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of rural health and rural communities.
Expand your knowledge and skills by attending member events, webinars and conferences through your chapter and as part of the wider Hauora Taiwhenua community.
Members can receive discounts to major events such as our National Rural Health Conference and other seminars and webinars.
Through your chapter you can network with members and contribute to conversations with like-minded people.
All members will receive a monthly Hauora Taiwhenua newsletter as well as regular important sector updates to keep you informed.
Through our member app, you will have exclusive access to a range of discounts on a range of popular technology, outdoors and home & living brands
Access our free educational resource produced by Hauora Taiwhenua to guide and inform you in tikanga Maori.
Recognising the significant health disparities between rural and urban populations, we have partnered with Kinetik to provide essential home use medical devices to rural homes in need. All profits generated will go to donating medical devices to disadvantaged people in rural communities.
Our Mentorship programme is now live. This opportunity provides mentors and mentees the chance to connect on-line. Mentees can connect with another member who is able to offer support through virtual, on-line conversations and discussions. If you are interested in being a mentor or mentee you can apply via the member’s Portal or contact ingrid.busby@htrhn.org.nz.
