Role This practice has the availability for one GP (Family Physicians) to join them in their Ngatea based clinic. This role is available now. The sessions per week are flexible with weekend on-call once every 10 and weekdays on call every 3, however there is no PRIME work involved. We are able to offer a competitive remuneration package, including help with relocation costs. For the right candidate, they would consider buying in to the practice.
Practice We have a broad team of GPs, prescribing nurse’s and physician assistants, and we value looking after our staff. We manage our demand so as not to overload staff as much as we can, by using phone triage for same day appointments. Our appointment templates are flexible and we allow 30 mins per session for paperwork with blocked off time for doing phone triage and oversight if required of nursing staff or physician assistants. There will also be the possibility of virtual appointments from home at times. We are backed up by our other practice in Te Aroha and this means that there is no problem taking leave, as we have other staff who can cover. As with all other rural practices in New Zealand, there is an after hours commitment, however as we have the 2 practices, it is not onerous. Our roster is a 1 in 10 roster. We cover from 5-10 on weekdays and 9-12 on the weekends. Calls are first screened by a nurse and we also have a virtual Dr Service who is used before the on-call GP is called. This means that the majority of the call can be managed over the phone.
