Role Join our purpose-built, modern medical practice and become part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that includes General Practitioners, a Nurse Practitioner, a Community Nurse Prescriber, a Nurse Practitioner in training, Registered Nurses, a Health Care Assistant, a Health Improvement Practitioner, a Health Coach, and a supportive reception team. We offer very flexible hours and are happy to work with you to create a mix of on-site consults and Telehealth sessions that fit your lifestyle and preferences. The role can typically be between four to eight sessions per week (2–4 days), with a varied and interesting patient mix. To support your transition, a sign-on bonus will be provided, which can also be used to assist with relocation costs if required. You’ll also receive paid professional development opportunities and ongoing inbox and administrative support, allowing you to focus on delivering great patient care.
Practice With over 20 years of service to the Tuakau community, our practice is proud to uphold exceptional standards of patient care as a Cornerstone-accredited general practice. We’re dedicated to delivering innovative primary health solutions to one of New Zealand’s most culturally diverse populations and are committed to building a sustainable future for general practice in our area. We currently care for approximately 6,100 registered patients, including Pākehā (European), Māori, Pacific, and high-needs communities. Each GP typically sees around 12 patients per session, with 15-minute appointment times, and benefits from the support of nurse-led clinics within the practice. Location Tuakau is conveniently located just 60-minutes’ drive south of Auckland city. Although a small town, Tuakau has become famous for its cafes, art gallery and welcoming ambience. It has all regular services such as banks and pharmacies. There are two primary schools, Tuakau Primary School and Harrisville School (Tuakau School’s most famous pupil being Sir Edmund Hilary!). There is also Tuakau College, a joined intermediate and high school. Pukekohe, the nearest larger town is located a 10-minute drive from Tuakau. To read more about the region click here.
