Location Located in the spectacular Central Otago region in the South Island, Cromwell sits on the shores of Lake Dunstan, amidst a stunning rural landscape. The climate is dry and marked by hot summers and crisp, cold winters, perfect for the cultivation of grapes and cherries and subsequently the area is becoming world-renowned for its stylish Pinot Noir. The township is only a short drive to the popular resort towns of Queenstown (45 minutes) and Wanaka (40 minutes). Four-wheel driving, trekking, tramping, hunting and mountain biking are all popular pastimes in the area, as are fishing and other water sports.
