Role We are seeking a permanent or long term General Practitioner (Family Medicine) to join a great practice in Kaeo. You will be working 8 sessions (4 days) per week. The role would suit a GP who has great communication skills, sound clinical and service skills combined with the ability to provide healthcare to a full range of people in our community.
Practice The practice offers effective and accessible primary health care to the far North community, focusing on the high needs Maori community. In addition to the general practice services, the practice has adopted a multi-disciplinary approach, as part of its move towards a one-stop-shop for health care.
Location Kaeo is a township in the Far North District of New Zealand, located some 22 km (14 mi) northwest of Kerikeri. The town takes its name from the kāeo or New Zealand freshwater mussel, which is found in the nearby rivers. The Kaeo settlement had a population of 228 at the 2018 New Zealand census, an increase of 48 people (26.7%) since the 2013 census, and an increase of 57 people (33.3%) since the 2006 census. Ethnicities were 44.7% European/Pākehā, 73.7% Māori, and 9.2% Pacific peoples. People may identify with more than one ethnicity.
