Role A practice located in Darfield is seeking a general practitioner (GP) for a long-term role, available from 10 November 2026 through to 31 March 2027. For this role, you will be working 6 to 8 sessions per week, with no requirement for any on-call duties. Additionally, the practice is able to assist with relocation, as well as provide a vehicle and accommodation if required.
Location Darfield is a quaint little town situated on State Highway 73, a mere 30 minutes’ drive from the city of Christchurch. The area is known for its gorgeous spring-time blossoms and some of New Zealand’s highest temperatures come summertime. Darfield is a popular region for hot air ballooning, where you can enjoy the exhilaration of the towering snow-capped mountains and panoramic views of the Canterbury plains! Head down south where you can visit the three main ski fields– Canterbury Ski region, Mount Cook Mackenzie area and the Queenstown / Wanaka regions. The town is a vibrant small community with shops, cafes, sporting facilities, medical and dental facilities, a hotel and wine bar, restaurants, service stations, churches and educational facilities.
