The Innovation in Rural General Practice Award recognises and celebrates outstanding innovation in rural general practice across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Established under Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network (HTRHN), the award highlights a rural practice that is delivering creative, community-centred solutions to complex rural health challenges. It also provides an opportunity to share best practice nationally and strengthen the visibility and value of rural generalism within New Zealand’s health system.

The Innovation in Rural General Practice Award will be launched at the 21st WONCA World Rural Health Conference incorporating the National Rural Health Conference in 2026.
The award will be presented annually at the conference, recognising rural general practices that are shaping the future of rural healthcare in Aotearoa.
