Role
We are seeking an experienced GP to join our well-established Whanganui practice. This is a full time position, ideally 5 days per week however this is negotiable, as is the start date.
We are also seeking a part-time GP to service our satellite clinic in Waverley (45 minute drive from Whanganui). This clinic is currently open two days a week however there are additional days and hours available in the Whanganui clinic. Weekly team briefings and mentoring support will be provided.
The practice employs three permanent, vocationally registered GPs and are seeking another permanent GP to join their team. This is a full time position, however the hours are negotiable, as is the start date.
Staff here work very well as a team and there is excellent collegial support. The GPs work alongside an excellent nursing team and a supportive Administration team. The clinic is located in a lovely well-equipped building with modern facilities. There are around 6000 registered patients, with a high Māori population. Staff must have a good level of cultural awareness, or be open to learning about different cultures. All new staff will be supported to complete the organisations Whānau Ora training, ensuring there is a consistent understanding of the organisations Whānau Ora (inclusive) approach.
The clinic is open from 8.30am to 5.00pm weekdays, with evening clinics from 5.00pm-8.00pm two days a week. The Practice is ideally looking for a GP to work 5 days per week however this is negotiable. Our GP team are a part of the on-call roster at the afterhours acute services at Whanganui Accident & Medical Centre based at the Whanganui Hospital, this is a 5 minute drive away from the clinic.
