Kaitaia is a rural town in New Zealand’s sub-tropical far north, approximately two hours from the nearest city and four and a half hours from Auckland. Kaitaia’s population around 4,800, with a further 20,000 people in the surrounding district. The beautiful beaches and natural attractions make the region attractive to tourists and offer a wonderful outdoor lifestyle for residents.
Kaitaia is a busy farming town, with vineyards, and many fruit growing businesses. Like most rural towns Kaitaia has its very own annual Agricultural & Pastoral Show. If you are interested in golf, wine, food, shops and art then this is the area for you.
The region has numerous primary schools around the towns and in the rural settings, there are four intermediate schooling options and two colleges. They also have preschools/kindergartens, play-centres and child care facilities.
