Role This practice is looking for a 6-12 week GP for immediate start joining a friendly and supportive team. The role is for 8 sessions per week. The ideal candidate is an experienced GP who is a flexible, team player with a sense of humour! Would also consider a virtual consultation option.
Location Dannevirke has a population of around 6200, is a family-focussed town with a strong sense of community. It is situated in the Tararua District, which boasts two forest parks, three mountain ranges, rugged coastline, bush-covered valleys and nearly 300 kilometres of river network. The climate has defined seasons, with summer temperatures reaching above 30°C and cool winters. The town is located only an hour’s drive to the bustling university city of Palmerston North and one and a half hour trip to the famous wine country – the Hawke’s Bay. If you would prefer to stay close to home then the local golf course, heated indoor pool, Ruahine Ranges and the Manawatu River are all easily accessible. Enjoy the trout fishing, canoeing, hiking or horse riding. Dannevirke is the largest community in the Tararua District and is well serviced with a modern hospital, three secondary schools and a growing commercial sector.
