Role

A permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) is sought for this friendly practice. If you are professional, a team player and hard-working then this is the right position for you!

The role is for 8 sessions per week (4 days). The on-call requirements are one weekday evening and one weekend every 4 months.

Medical Council registration fees are paid for by the practice and an annual budget of $800 is provided for conferences and continued medical development etc.

Practice

This purpose-built practice is based in newly designed premises with brand new equipment and furnishings.

There are 4 General Practitioners supported by practice nurses, receptionists, one administrator and a full time Practice Manager. The practice has around 3990 registered patients and has a varied rural population.

The practice also provides external care services to Waihi Lifecare continuing care and Hetherington House rest home.  The practice is fully computerised and uses the MedTech Evolution patient management system.

Location

Waihi is located in the Coromandel district, which was one of the great gold mining districts of the world. You can now visit the Gold Discovery Centre for an experience of 100 years of goldmining history.

The temperature in Waihi is warm and temperate. During the Summer months hitting the upper 20 degrees Celsius. And the Winter months only dropping to around 9 degrees Celsius.

This area is renowned for its native forests, the breath-taking Karangahake Gorge and the nearby white-sand stretches of the Waihi Beach. The beach is 9km of beautiful sand with walks, cycle tracks with a popular beachside community.

Waihi is nestled between two great holiday destinations- the Coromandel with its pristine beaches, misty forests and Tauranga with its hot summer harbour-side views. If you enjoy the outdoors then this is the place for you.
