Role

They are looking for GPs to work weekdays in our semi-rural general practice, situated close to a base hospital in Timaru, within the wonderful South Canterbury region. We are in located in an area of New Zealand which has easy access to the sea, rivers, mountains, ski fields and lakes. Both the cities of Christchurch and Dunedin are within reasonable driving distance and there is access to excellent primary, secondary and tertiary schools, and universities.

You will be working as part of a broad, innovative, stable intradisciplinary team that includes, GP’s, NP’s, RN Prescribers, senior RN’s, clinical assistant, Kaiawhina, Health Coach, Health Improvement Practitioner, and a supportive and experienced administration team.

They offer an attractive and competitive salary package that includes an annual ring-fenced professional development allowance.

Practice

This RN/GP owner operated practice is Cornerstone accredited, active in teaching both undergraduate and post graduate medical and nursing students, and fully supports ongoing professional development and specialty practice interests. They have a strong commitment to family/life/work balance and are well supported by a loyal and established community.

They will be opening a second practice location within a new purpose-built community health hub early 2024 in Geraldine. This will be an exciting development where we will be operating within a community facility that includes other local and visiting health and social services.

Temuka is a charming town situated in the Canterbury region of New Zealand’s South Island. Known for its welcoming community and picturesque surroundings, Temuka offers a delightful rural escape. The town’s main thoroughfare, King Street, features quaint shops and eateries, reflecting a laid-back kiwi lifestyle.

One of Temuka’s notable attractions is its rich pottery heritage, with the Temuka Pottery Factory producing iconic ceramics since the early 1930s. Visitors can explore the history and craftsmanship of this local tradition.
