Role

We are seeking a short-term General Practitioner for a friendly, community focused practice located just outside of Blenheim, Marlborough. This locum role has 8 sessions (4 days) per week with no on-call.

Practice

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a small and friendly team of two other part time GPs, four nurses, two receptionist and a practice manager. Team work and inclusiveness are promoted within the clinic; everyone has a voice and opportunity to give their input and staff are highly valued.

This practice is seeking a doctor who is passionate about their work and genuinely cares about their patients and the wider community. Ideally you will be a team player who is keen to teach students and participate in peer review.

The practice holds a PRIME contract for the Wairau Valley, so a GP with these skills (or willing to learn) is preferred.

Location

Located at the top end of the South Island, Blenheim (with a population of 26,000) is the main town in the province of Marlborough, New Zealand’s premiere wine growing district.

Blenheim is one of the sunniest towns in New Zealand, and in and around the town you will find an excellent selection of cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, artisan food outlets and golf courses.

Blenheim is just a short drive from the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, home to all kinds of wonderful bird and sea life. Queen Charlotte, Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds can be explored by boat, bike or on foot. Admire the spectacular scenery where bush and mountains rise straight from the sea, and secret coves beckon you for a swim. Guided fishing and hunting tours provide an alternate way to appreciate the region, and the Queen Charlotte Track, which passes through lush coastal forest and along skyline ridges, offers breath taking views.
