Hawera

Role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join this friendly team. You will be working 8 to 10 sessions per week (flexible).

The practice will pay for two weeks accommodation, excluding utilities. This will enable you to have time to find suitable accommodation in the area. The practice will also help out with Nursing Council of NZ registration fees and medical indemnity fees.

Practice

This rural practice has a wonderful team of five General Practitioners, a Practice Manager, practice nurses, office administrators and receptionists.

The practice services approximately 8000 patients with an older demographic.  Appointments are around 15 minutes per patient, with daily numbers flexible up to 30 patients per day. Surgery hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Location

Hawera is the second-largest town in the Taranaki region with a population of around 11,700, located near the coast of the South Taranaki bight. The spectacular Mt Taranaki is within 45 minutes drive, with more than 300 kilometres of walking tracks on offer. The bigger cities of Whanganui and New Plymouth are just one hours drive away.

You can enjoy Hawera’s art galleries, movie and performance theatres and parks in the town centre. Located further outside town is the TSB Hub, a sports, events and function centre. Hawera has affordable housing, and all the schooling facilities you may need, with a primary school, intermediate school (years 7-8) and high school (years 9-13). Many visitors come to Hawera to visit the Tawhiti Museum, a unique display featuring life-size figures created from moulds cast from real people.

If you enjoy a rural lifestyle with beautiful mountain scenery and surf beaches nearby, then this location will definitely appeal to you!
